Seasonals Are Here

We've talked about the returning migratory birds and the first flowers, but we have not yet introduced the seasonal guides that will help you see and understand the old-growth forest at the Audubon Center at Francis Beidler Forest.

This month, Denise Ecker (left in the image) and Brad Dalton began their duties, including guiding school groups around the boardwalk, leading canoe trips, helping prepare for Summer Camp, making nature presentations to school and community groups, assisting in the maintenance of Beidler Forest, and contributing to the improvement of all of Beidler Forest's programs.

Denise hails from Allentown, Pennsylvania. She attended Penn State University, where she majored in Biology. Prior to coming to Beidler Forest, she worked several internships within the National Wildlife Refuge system. She loves hiking, bird watching and reading. Brad is from Williamston, SC and earned a degree in Biology from Anderson University. Brad is a retread having worked here last spring as a seasonal naturalist. He has also worked as a camp staff member for six years and studied wildlife and ecology in a variety of places including Panama and the Galapagos Islands.

We welcome Denise and Brad and look forward to their contributions to the educational programming here at the Francis Beidler Forest!
