On March 23, seventeen coaches and carriages took part in the first annual Audubon Coach and Carriage Drive at Silver Bluff Audubon Center and Sanctuary (near Jackson, SC). They traversed 7.3 miles of roads through the sanctuary, which showed the diversity of habitats and offered a glimpse of the beautiful Savannah River.This special day was hosted by Jack Wetzel as a fundraising event for the sanctuary. Many spectators paid for the privilege of attending to observe the carriage driving, participate in bird and natural history walks, watch raptor demonstrations, and enjoy a delicious lunch – complete with chocolate riding boots for dessert!
